Key Qualifications
- Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Proven experience in Operating Room Technology (ORT) and surgical nursing assistance
- Proficiency in preparing operating rooms, sterilizing equipment, and managing surgical instruments
- Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and patient safety protocols
- Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team and adapt in fast-paced environments
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Current BLS certification required
- Flexibility to work variable shifts as operational needs require
Responsibilities
- Assist surgical teams during procedures by ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and sterile
- Prepare and maintain the sterile field, organize tools and materials, and ensure the proper functioning of surgical instruments
- Support pre-operative and post-operative procedures, including patient preparation and documentation
- Adhere strictly to infection control standards and safety guidelines
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care
- Maintain detailed records of surgical procedures, instruments used, and patient outcomes
